RESIDENCE EUROPE II
KUNST#TAG 086 | Symposium and Partner Meeting
16/17 July, 2022
Since 15 year the District Council of Upper Bavaria awards the European Art Fellowship, which is committed to developing and promoting an European outlook and enriching cultural life in the region. Visual artists from outside Germany are given the opportunity to live and work for a number of months at the Schafhof. In exchange, Upper Bavarian artists take part in residencies in the partner countries.
The artist exchange generally takes place as a cooperative arrangement with a partner institution. This arrangement with the partner usually lasts for several residency exchange periods and provides tha base for a sustainable and intensive cooperation. The artists are able to benefit from the network of the hosting insitution. In the same time they are cultural ambassadors in other countries and regions.
The aim of the symposium is to provid an insight into the various profiles of the artist-in-residence programs as well as to discuss the significance of artist exchanges.
In 2022 cooperations with institutions in Bari/Italy, Linz/Austria, Budapest/Hungary, Kyiv/Ukraine, Usti nad Labem/Czech Republic, Košice/Slowakia, Orońsko/Poland as well as Orleans/France are expected.
Free entry for the visit of the symposium.
