Patrick Ostrowsky lives and works in Munich. Born in the Bavarian Forest, he combines sculpture, object and installation in his formal but poetic language. Based on research on (temporary) architecture, material politics and personal narratives, he creates installations that refer to a subjective understanding of world creation in contrast to a dominant, patriarchal belief system. Ultimately, he has an incredible sensitivity not only to materials, but also to reinventing their function and how they are perceived.
His work has been the subject of numerous group and solo exhibitions internationally including Palazzo Madama (Turin), Kunsthaus Baselland, Pinakothek der Moderne (Munich), Britta Rettberg (Munich), MACRO (Rome), Kulturfolger (Zurich), Kunstverein München, Kunstverein Wiesbaden, Kunsthaus Nürnberg, and the Lindau Biennale. He was appointed 'Meisterschüler' of the AdBK Munich.

The artist-in-residence program takes place in the framework of the European Art Fellowship of the District Council of Upper Bavaria.
During the stay of the guest artists in Freising presentations and open studio days provide the possibility to meet with and know more about the artists. There is always the option to arrange individual visits and meetings as well.
